Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
A breakthrough approach for deeper healing and lasting change
Why Consider Ketamine-Assisted Therapy?
Some emotional wounds are harder to reach with talk therapy alone. If you’ve tried traditional therapy or medication and still feel stuck in depression, anxiety, trauma, or chronic emotional pain — ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) may offer a new path forward.
KAP blends the healing potential of ketamine with the safety and guidance of psychotherapy. It helps you access deeper layers of your experience, process unresolved pain, and reconnect with a more open, grounded sense of self.
How It Works
Ketamine is a legally prescribed medication that creates a temporary shift in consciousness, allowing you to access thoughts, emotions, and memories from a new perspective. When used in a safe, supportive environment and paired with psychotherapy, it becomes a powerful tool for healing.
In this state, many people experience a loosening of negative thought patterns, greater emotional openness, and moments of clarity that are difficult to reach through traditional talk therapy alone.
Ketamine has been shown to:
Interrupt cycles of depression and anxiety
Promote neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to form new connections
Reduce emotional reactivity, making space for insight and growth
Create a “window of openness” that enhances therapeutic breakthroughs
Unlike traditional antidepressants that take weeks to take effect, ketamine can lead to rapid relief — often within hours or days — especially when combined with intentional psychotherapy.
In short: ketamine helps quiet the noise, so you can finally hear what’s underneath.
What to Expect
Each ketamine-assisted therapy session is structured to help you feel safe, supported, and open to the experience. Here’s what a typical 90-minute session looks like:
Arrival & Grounding
You’ll begin in a calm, private setting. We’ll take a few moments to check in, review your intention for the session, and create a grounded, supportive atmosphere.
Medicine Administration
You’ll take a prescribed dose of ketamine via a sublingual tablet while comfortably seated or reclined. A calming playlist and optional eyeshades are provided to help you turn inward.
The Journey
As the ketamine takes effect, you may enter a deeply relaxed or altered state of awareness. Dr. Vickery remains present throughout the session to ensure your safety and provide gentle support as needed — while giving you space to explore your inner experience.
Reflection & Integration
As the medicine wears off, we’ll take time to gently reorient and reflect on what surfaced. You’ll have space to share any insights or emotions that arose, and we’ll begin the process of making sense of it together.
Every session is unique — and each one builds on the last. Integration continues in follow-up conversations or therapy sessions.

KAP may be helpful if you’re experiencing:
Treatment-resistant depression
Anxiety or chronic stress

No. Because ketamine affects your coordination and perception, you’ll need someone to drive you home after each session. We recommend arranging a trusted friend, family member, or ride service in advance.

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and how you respond to the treatment. Some people experience meaningful shifts after just a few sessions, while others benefit from a more extended process. This will be discussed and tailored to your needs.
